Kids Corner is a place where you can play games that will help you learn about water pollution, urban runoff and tips that will help you keep our rivers, creeks bays and ocean clean. Clean beaches , healthy creeks, rivers, bays and ocean are important to Orange County. However, many common activities can lead to water pollution if you’re not careful.
Litter, pet waste, motor oil, fertilizers, pesticides and other chemicals that are left on our yards, sidewalks, streets and gutters flow into our storm drains and and straight to our ocean. Unlike water in sanitary sewers (from sinks and toilets), water in the storm drains is not treated before entering our waterway. If we protect our watershed, we will protect our ocean.
The following activities demonstrate simple ways to protect Orange County’s water. Give them a try and earn your “water wizard” certificate!
